Background
Why fellowship matching is hard
Finding a suitable fellowship is essential. Doctors and institutes sometimes have different expectations, which leads to frustration and wasted resources for both.
One obstacle for doctors is finding feedback from previous fellows about a specific fellowship, and being able to contact that person for further advice. For institutes, the obstacle is the volume of enquiries from candidates who do not match their selection criteria, which increases administrative overhead.
Financing a fellowship can also be a challenge. Some companies wish to sponsor doctors directly but are unable to due to various rules and regulations.
What MyFellowship sets out to do
- Enable fellowship candidates to make an informed decision when choosing a fellowship
- Help institutes find eligible candidates with less administrative overhead
- Create a forum for previous fellows to build and grow their network
- Provide opportunities and avenues for industry to finance fellowships
