Frequently asked questions
Everything about joining BeeMed, taking part in discussions and events, and how we handle your data.
Events
How can I watch an event?+
To watch an event live or on replay you have to register for it. First make sure that you are logged in on the app, then go to the events page at https://app.beemed.com/event, choose an event from the "Upcoming" or "Replay" section and register there. If the event is free, you don't have to do anything else; if it requires payment you'll be able to access the event after payment.
Note: you may need to log in again when accessing the event's page.
I will miss an event, can I still watch it afterwards?+
Besides rare exceptions, all events on BeeMed can be found after the live stream on the platform. To watch events that already took place, go to the replay page: https://app.beemed.com/event?eventType=replay
How long are event replays accessible?+
Most replays will be available indefinitely. Depending on the organizer this can vary, but all events will be available for at least a year after the live stream.
Which events are CME accredited?+
All CME accredited events are clearly indicated as such in the description of the event.
Can I ask questions to the speakers of an event?+
Most events on BeeMed are interactive. People who have registered can ask questions during the live stream using the chat tab on the right hand side of the screen.
How can I get accreditation after watching a CME accredited event?+
You will receive a feedback form than you need to submit within 7 days from when the event took taken place. You will then automatically receive your CME certificate by email. Only medical specialists who participate during the entire session and filled out the accreditation evaluation form are eligible for a certificate.
Community
Which communities can I join and how?+
You can join open communities and industry partner communities freely by clicking "Join". Semi-private communities require a request to join, and private communities require an invite from the administrator.
How can I create my own community?+
All members can create one or multiple communities. Go to the community page and click "Create a community".
For better engagement we recommend the administrator has a profile with basic information and a profile picture. You can upload a 1×1 logo and a 4.7×1 banner (30% of the banner on the left will be hidden by the logo).
Write a clear and compelling message in the "About" section — this is the text all BeeMed members see when deciding whether to join.
Who can see what is posted in my community?+
Only members of a community can see what has been posted inside it. For more privacy, choose the semi-private or private option to control who can join.
Why can I see community posts in my newsfeed? Can others see them?+
The main newsfeed incorporates your community feed. Only members of a community will have that community's feed included in their main newsfeed.
How can I make my community grow?+
A clear, short description, an attractive name and a nice logo attract the right people. As a rule of thumb, post or upload a case at least once per week when starting out.
When new content is added, or when someone comments on content a member engaged with, that member receives a push notification and an email.
You can also draw attention to specific content by typing "@" followed by a member name in any comment field.
How can people join my community?+
Open: every BeeMed member can join freely. Semi-private: people send a request you can approve or deny. Private: members can only join by invitation from an administrator.
Administrators can invite members from the "Members" tab: select "Invitations" > "Invite another member" and start typing a name.
Can I create an industry partner community?+
Industry partner communities are made to discuss industrial products with employees of the manufacturers. They follow different guidelines — contact info@beemed.com if you wish to create one.
Can I invite other people to a community I joined?+
To invite members to a community you did not create, you must have been granted admin rights by another admin. Then go to the "Members" tab, open the invitation menu and click "Invite another member".
What are the different roles inside a community?+
A member can post and interact as usual. A moderator can additionally delete posts, cases and comments in the community.
An administrator can add and remove users, manage the rules and the About section, change the profile picture and banner, delete posts, cases and comments, and change domain and anatomy options.
Posting & cases
How do I post a case, tip or trick?+
You can publish three types of content: clinical cases (to get opinions from other professionals), tips & tricks (to show your techniques) and posts (for everything else).
From the main newsfeed click "Start a post" and choose one of the three options. Add media, a poll, a title and a description, and select the domains and anatomies it relates to. Then tick the patient anonymity agreement box and publish.
How can I delete a post I made?+
Go to your case page, scroll to the three dots on the right and click to delete. You can also edit it by clicking "Edit your …" in the top right corner of your post.
How many images, videos or PDFs can I add to my case?+
You can add up to 8 images (.png or .jpeg), 8 videos (.mp4, 1GB) and 8 PDFs (100MB) per case. If you need more, add images by commenting under your case.
The "other files" feature can be used for larger files such as presentations or spreadsheets. No preview is displayed for those, only a download link.
How do I post a case in my community?+
Go to your community, make sure you see the community banner at the top, click the case tab and then "Add your case". Add a title, write your case, specify domains and anatomies and add videos, images, PDFs and MCQs.
Content published in a community is only visible to its members. It appears in their main newsfeed with a tag showing the community name.
What does the "hide the answer" function do?+
If you prefer not to see a particular comment you can hide it for yourself only. This does not affect the display for other users.
How do I add a poll to a post, case or tip?+
With every type of post you can add a poll on the second step, below media selection, with one question and up to 13 possible answers. You can let people select one or multiple answers. Answers are public, so members can see who voted for what.
Account & profile
How do I validate my account?+
Click the link sent to you by email when you registered. If nothing arrives, check your spam folder or request a new email from the login page.
If that doesn't work, contact us and we'll activate it manually for you.
How can I access my profile?+
On a computer, click "View my profile" at the top left of the screen. On mobile, tap your profile picture at the top right and choose "Access my profile".
How can I complete my profile?+
You can complete your profile when you first register. Later, open your profile and click "Edit my profile".
We strongly encourage writing a short bio and uploading a profile picture — it increases engagement on your posts and helps colleagues find you.
Search
How do I use the search function?+
Click the "Search" icon at the top left of the screen to search cases, articles, podcasts, events and posts, or everything at once. Your keywords are cross-checked against all text on the platform.
