The Green Shoulder Circle is pleased to organise the first webinar on the eco-responsible approach in orthopaedic surgery. It is now essential, after a century of prodigious progress in the medical field, to consider the carbon footprint that our surgical activity generates.
In order to leave a viable planet for as long as possible to future generations, all the actors of today's health care must face the problem, confront it and find solutions instead of running away from it.
This is why orthopaedic surgeons must take a critical look at their practices in order to make choices in the evolution of their indications and surgical techniques.
We propose a round table discussion giving the floor to different actors, surgeons, and anaesthetists from the health industry but also from the automotive sector to begin to identify what has already been done and what remains to be done to reduce the carbon footprint of healthcare.
