Dr. Sanjeev Kakar
Dr. Sanjeev Kakar

Sanjeev (Sanj) Kakar, M.D., treats all conditions affecting the hand, wrist and forearm. His research is in the areas of ligament injuries of the wrist, fracture care, arthritis, tumors and cancers, and Dupuytren's disease.

Focus areas
Wrist ligament injury. Using innovative CT scanning to diagnose ligament injury, as well as using stem cells and scaffolds to develop a new ligament to repair injuries.
Thumb arthritis. Using real-time CT scanning to better understand and treat thumb arthritis.
Dupuytren's disease. Using molecular biology to improve the understanding of genes involved in Dupuytren's disease and designing new treatments to prevent the disease.
Tumors. Developing an improved method to classify hand tumors and being able to predict which tumors may or may not fracture the bone.

Doctor Marion Burnier completed her internship training, then Clinical Assistant Manager in Lyon. She specializes in hand, wrist, elbow and shoulder surgery and peripheral nerve surgery such as brachial plexus palsies.Doctor Marion Burnier also followed a year of training abroad in Hong Kong and in the United States (Hospital for Special Surgery - Mayo Clinic) in order to improve her skills in hand, wrist, elbow and neck surgery. 'shoulder. She participates as a speaker in several national and international congresses.She is also the author of several scientific publications and scientific books. Doctor Marion Burnier is an active member of several national and international scientific societies.

Professor Guillaume HERZBERG completed his entire professional course in LYON (France) and received initial training at the Mayo Clinic Rochester Minnesota (USA). He specialized in Adult Upper Limb Surgery (shoulder, elbow, wrist, hand): fractures, arthroscopies, arthroplasties.
Professor of Orthopedic and Trauma Surgery, former Head of the orthopedic unit at Herriot Hospital in Lyon, he trained in Lyon, Paris, Lausanne (Switzerland), Mayo Clinic (Rochester, USA), Boston (USA), Jackson, Mississippi (USA), Toronto (Canada), Los Angeles (USA). He maintains daily contacts with several cutting-edge international teams and teaches in the USA, China and Australia.
He is the author of more than 500 scientific publications and active member of the European Society of the Shoulder and Elbow, the French Society of Arthroscopy, is past-President of the French Society of Hand Surgery (2015) and of the European Wrist Arthroscopy Society (2017). He is co-director of the IWIW (International Wrist Investigators Workshop) and Member of the French Academy of Surgery.
It organizes every year since 2005, in Lyon (France), the LYON International Wrist Meeting (alcoms69.fr).
